Two months ago I wrote about my desire to make this dress. It has taken a year of procrastination and a day of sewing. I was spurred on by the fact that we had a marriage celebration and blessing to attend yesterday. It was not a wedding, the wedding was held in Hawaii a few weeks ago. It was a gathering of friends and family to celebrate with the newly weds and ask God’s blessing on their marriage. A very happy time was had by all and the bride and matron of honour did wear their dresses as I hoped they would.
I just happen to have a purse given to me by my sister-in-law which matches perfectly. So for once I wasn’t carrying the brown leather backpack.
Wow!! As easy as that huh? And one day! Very impressive – and what a gorgeous model you used to show it off 🙂
Well done for accomplishing that task. I wish I could say I have accomplished something of late. I did increase my swimming. Now I go to the point (the cottage past the last one with the brown boathouse, it’s the one with the yellow rowboat). I still feel pretty good at the end and finish off with my butterfly – which has only increased by one stroke I think.
I am so sorry again about not getting the bag off with Ted. Tanya has had several “bad” days, today being one of them even if she sounded O.K. on the phone, so what with preparing dinner for my mom and Ruben et al, and helping Ted get a whole load of old stuff out of the back yard and down to the dump and rushing the girls off to craft night and feeding and helping with J and H – well, you get the picture 😦
Talk to you soon.
Love Nan
Me again,
The tape recording of The Calico Captive is due tomorrow, Aug 7. Hope you enjoyed it.
PS I think you will enjoy the movie Night in the Museum (though we did not see the first 20 minutes or so, the rest is quite good).
Thanks again,
Nan
Hi Nan,
Thanks for the reminder about Calico Captive, we really enjoyed it and realised that we had read it some time ago. B6 was interested as long as the captives were with the indians but his interest waned when they were in Montreal.
I’m impressed!! Not only did you make a fantastic looking dress but you also manage to look fantastic in it. I don’t know how many times I have found something that looked great on the rack but didn’t look quite so great on me. You don’t seem to have that problem.
Thank you, Yvonne, I had doubts as I was making it whether I should have chosen such bright material, then doubts about the shape of the pattern, but I’m very happy with the end result.
Lovely! And you have a stunning smile…
I have never made a dress for myself. Looks like you got the fit down perfectly – or you are the perfect size. 🙂 Good for you!
